I received a discounted sample in return for sharing my opinion. That does not mean I am easy to please. In fact this has to be the 3rd or 4th pair of faux diamond earrings I have been sent and this is the only set worth mentioning.
The reason I said yes was that two things caught my eye from their email and listing.
1.) The mount. It doesn't look like the typical fake diamond mount. I looks more like what you would expect on a real $2,000 pair of earrings.
2.) Chic Code's focus on the cut/flame of the Zirconia. Most zirconias look dull and lifeless (like cheaper real diamonds. Having experience with very high quality diamonds with fire, I know the difference. Most jewelers won't tell you this but color and cut are a bigger deal that clarity but almost everyone focuses on clarity. The cut or fire a stone has is what catches the light in any given space and makes a ring stand out. That is why Tiffany's focuses more on cut/fire than clarity which confused me when I first started shopping for my wife's rings.
Anyway, I said yes but didn't tell my wife anything about new earrings to get her unbiased opinion. She immediately noticed the difference in the setting. She said there is a lot more metal there and it looks more like her very expensive pieces. I commented that they looked "cleaner" and she agreed. The other reason for this type of setting is to let more light in (to give the earrings more fire).
It took some time to fully notice but I feel the fire is much stronger in these than her other faux diamonds.
Now my wife can wear anything without getting a skin reaction so I can't speak to that aspect but if you can get away with wearing these, there is no reason to spend thousands more for the same effect.
I am so pleased with these that I am going to shop other Chic Code items to see if they have used this same detail for quality in other items as well. These are a bargain at 4 times the current asking price.
